Psychotherapy for Career Success

Sometimes people learn patterns of behavior and emotional responses early in life that can make it difficult to reach their full potential in their careers.  If you believe this may be true for you, it can be helpful to invest additional time and effort to understand the legacy of early influences and to learn other ways to approach challenges in your career. Making such fundamental changes involves a larger investment of time and energy, but it can help you to reach your potential in your career and other areas of your life, and provide you with confidence and satisfaction that you might not otherwise achieve.

Some common behavioral and emotional issues that may limit your career potential that can be addressed effectively through psychotherapy include:

Low self-esteem
Fear of failure
Shyness and social anxiety
“Impostor Syndrome” (the belief that you have not earned or deserve your success)
Perfectionism
Excessive need for control
Difficulty dealing with authority
Being overly cautious and fearful of taking risks
Inflated self-concept
Having unrealistic expectations of others
Difficulty controlling intense emotions, such as anger or frustration
