About

Support, Experience, and Resources that Lead to Success

At Delaware Valley Career Solutions, my personalized approach is tailored to your unique style and needs, unlocking the secrets of what differentiates you from others.

At the beginning of our partnership, I really want to get to know you and learn about what is driving your desire for help right now. The main question is, “What would you like to be different about yourself or your situation at the end of our work together?”

We will discuss your work history, delve into your strengths and weaknesses, analyze how you operate at work and in your personal life, and assess your goals.

Together, we identify a path forward that is realistic and that reflects your unique needs and goals. And then, I operate as a thinking partner, cheerleader, and Sherpa as you walk down that path.

Throughout, I am keenly focused on providing you with the experience, tools, structure, support, and resources to enable you to achieve success and greater work fulfillment.

How I Chose This Specialty

My passion for “career psychology” is rooted in my own personal background, as the eldest child of Holocaust survivors and as a first-generation American.

While successful in building a comfortable life for my sisters and me, my parents were both thwarted by their circumstances from being able to make full use of their talents.

My father started and ran a factory that manufactured baby hats in what is now Soho in New York City. He was moderately successful but was clearly stressed out and miserable with the options open to him.

My Mom was very creative but lacked the education or opportunities to transform her love of fashion design into a career.

I considered myself very fortunate to have grown up in an era offering so many educational opportunities and realized what a gift it is to be able to choose a career path that provides so much more satisfaction besides paying bills.

Given how much of our life is spent at work, I wanted to help others achieve as much fulfillment and success in their careers as possible. So, I began my career-oriented private practice in 1993.

About Me

Something About My Professional Background

Besides earning a doctorate in counseling psychology (with a concentration in career development) from the University of Maryland, I held a dream job as employee #2 in a successful start-up and spent several years in the outplacement industry, where I learned all about how to conduct an effective job search.

Then, I was exposed to executive and leadership coaching where I honed my expertise in helping managers and executives build better leadership skills, gain resilience, and expand their emotional intelligence.

Those services were delivered privately and within many corporations in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and insurance industries for the past 30 years. I am also proud to be a “preferred provider” career management professional and executive coach for students and alumni of the Wharton School of Business.

I am licensed as a psychologist in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and am also certified as a Career Coach… and an Executive/Corporate/Business Coach.

My career continues to be a source of great joy and fulfillment, and I feel blessed to look forward to going to work every day. My goal is to assist as many others as possible to find work that is suitable for them, in whatever way they define that.

Outside of Work

One of my loves is spending time with my two grown sons (when I can grab time with them – so hard) and with my granddaughter. I also love to read with my two kitties, Espurr and Jonah, cuddled up next to me.

In mid-life, I took up singing and am in a high-powered choir that performs throughout the year, including an annual performance at the Kimmel Center. That provides me with a wonderful stress release and nurtures my soul.

Spending time with friends and doing some outside things, like walking, hiking, and kayaking are a joy. And lastly, I love to travel and have a long list of places I still want to see.
