About - Dr. Barbara Gronsky
Principal

Dr. Barbara Gronsky is a licensed psychologist who specializes in career development and work effectiveness issues.  She has over twenty-five years of experience helping individuals from late adolescence through retirement to: 1) identify realistic career paths where they will be likely to find success and fulfillment, 2) develop effective job-search strategies and skills and 3) overcome blind spots that interfere with their ability to achieve their career aspirations.  She has particular expertise in enhancing emotional competence and avoiding career derailment.

Dr. Gronsky’s career has been split between corporate consulting and individual career counseling. As an independent corporate consultant since 1993, she has provided career development, outplacement, leadership development and executive coaching to managers and executives of large and small corporations. Corporate clients include: Johnson & Johnson, Roche Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer Consumer HealthCare, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, Revlon, Rohm and Haas Corporation, Siemens Medical Solutions, Campbell Soup, Wachovia Bank, FMC Corporation, Marsh USA, Aramark, Air Products and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.

In her private practice, Dr. Gronsky counsels individuals of all ages about how to plan and manage their careers, run effective job search campaigns, and resolve skill or personality issues that interfere with success or satisfaction at work. She is a preferred provider of career management services for alumni of the Wharton School of Business.

Before establishing her business, Dr. Gronsky worked for seven years on the staff of several prominent human resources and career management consulting firms where she delivered career transition, stress management, leadership development, and assessment services.  She began her career as the first Clinical Director in an innovative and successful start-up business, where she created and managed national employee assistance programs for General Electric and other companies. 

Dr. Gronsky received her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Maryland in 1982. She is licensed to practice psychology in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

About Dr. Bruce Biskin
Senior Associate

Dr. Biskin is an assessment expert with over 25 years of broad-based experience in using tests and assessments to help individuals and organizations make decisions. In his work at Delaware Valley Career Solutions, he helps clients to find satisfying and fulfilling educational and career paths consistent with their values, interests, skills, and abilities. His clients typically include: 1) students who are struggling to select a college major or who are unhappy with their choices, 2) young adults who are uncertain whether their career choice was right for them, 3) mid-career adults who find their work is no longer satisfying or valued in the marketplace, and 4) mature adults who are beginning think about how they can make the next chapter of their lives more fulfilling and meaningful. Dr. Biskin’s style combines compassion, empathy, and skillful listening, with an outstanding ability to explain assessment results clearly and use them creatively in educational and career planning and decision-making.

Before joining Delaware Valley Career Solutions, Dr. Biskin was Director of Learning Assessment at Thomas Edison State College, where he led the College’s testing and portfolio programs for earning college credit. He also spent 20 years with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, where he worked on developing, evaluating, and improving the Uniform CPA Examination and other professional exam programs. In addition, he has served as an assessor for the Leadership Development Program offered by in the University of Maryland’s National Leadership Institute, where he helped mid- to upper-level managers and executives integrate assessment results into their career development plans. Currently, he is adjunct faculty in Rider University’s Department of Graduate Education, Leadership, and Counseling.

Dr. Biskin earned his PhD in counseling psychology from the University of Maryland, and he certified as a Global Career Development Facilitator. He is a member of a number of professional groups, including the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, National Career Development Association, and the Middle Atlantic Career Counseling Association.
