Executive Coaching

Good leadership is transformational.

Successful organizations understand that outstanding leadership improves the performance of both individuals and teams.

By making an investment in talent development for their best and brightest, businesses are better able to create a pipeline for future leadership and prevent the loss of key talent.

In turn, they cultivate leaders who not only drive results, but also build followership and inspire teams to attain higher levels of performance.

Professional coaching can produce leaders who are resilient, flexible, and capable of navigating within a complex, dynamic business climate.

Helping managers and executives become better leaders and performers…

I help high-potential executives and managers refine their leadership skills, so they can consistently achieve strategic and tactical goals.

Executives gain invaluable tools from coaching.

They gain increased awareness of strengths, areas for development, and impact that they have on others.

Gaining an enhanced ownership of a personal “leadership brand” helps deepen their understanding of what constitutes effective leadership.

They learn to build leadership competencies and expand their emotional intelligence.

In stressful or frustrating circumstances, they learn to cultivate resilience and reduce “negative baggage” that only leads to more stress.

How does a typical executive coaching program work?

This in-depth process typically takes six to nine months and involves the following: data-gathering via a 360° feedback process, leadership/personality inventories and extensive review of life and career history; executive commitment to coaching goals; creation of an Action Plan; six months of coaching; and a second round of data-gathering to gauge progress and final debrief meeting.

Executive coaching successfully addresses a host of issues.

Coaching helps cultivate courage and resilience under adversity.

Executives learn to collaborate well with other colleagues in the organization, creating better relationships with peers and navigating political dynamics in a constructive manner.

They learn to delegate and work through others in order to stay on top of ever-expanding deliverables, as well as how to build stronger teams.

Reining in destructive negative emotions, such as anger, frustration, and impatience are replaced by an ability to inspire and influence widely.

They learn to have increased comfort with ambiguity, while gaining self-esteem and owning one’s power/reducing insecurity.

Expanding executive presence and learning how to earn trust can be addressed, as well as finding meaning and joy outside of work.

In short, coaching addresses areas not readily tackled in a training program and results in increased self-awareness and sustainable behavioral change that others will notice and respond to.

Why coaching vs. other approaches to training and development?

Simply stated, coaching works.

In contrast to other types of training, this program is customized to the needs and learning style of the manager, while considering the specific business context in which s/he is operating.

In addition, the lengthy timeframe of coaching helps to cultivate and embed new habits into one’s routine.

Many can benefit from executive coaching.

Companies offer executive coaching for several types of employees.

Middle to senior management can become more versatile in handling a broader range of situations effectively, without changing their personalities.

High potential employees can receive coaching in preparation for bigger roles in the company.

Partners can gain insight into better ways of communicating that are less draining while working together.

Individuals in new roles, especially when they involve significant changes in level, scope, or complexity, can explore whether there is a need to adapt their natural leadership style to the new situation.
